Member is getting a "Technical Difficulties" error when connecting Facebook

When your community Members connect their social media account, Dynamic Signal's social media app VoiceStorm will request permission to connect to that account.



However, some overly cautious members may change the permissions VoiceStorm requests, which ends up breaking the connection between the network and VoiceStorm. This can lead to them getting a Technical Difficulties message, and it will make it so they are unable to post to that network.

We've included some instructions below that your members can follow which will help them remove the VoiceStorm app, and reauthorize the connection to your community.

Facebook

Go to your Facebook Settings and click Apps on the left hand column. (Or click this link to go there directly.) https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications.













Look for the VoiceStorm app. You will likely need to click Show All and scroll down in order to find it.



Click on the X on the right side of the VoiceStorm app to remove it.



You will receive a confirmation screen. Click the Remove button to finish removing the VoiceStorm app.







You should now be able to click the Share button to share content from your community.

You will likely see a red exclamation mark next to your social network. Click the box to re-authorize VoiceStorm to talk to your social media profile.

You will receive a login screen from Facebook asking you to authorize VoiceStorm. Click Okay to continue (and again on the following screen). Do not click the blue link to edit the permissions, or change who is allowed to view the posts, as it may affect VoiceStorm's ability to post or give you credit for your sharing activity.
